If you are one of those people who can’t stop thinking about a lot of things when trying to get to sleep, this blend might be a relief. Don’t allow overthinking to disrupt your rest. Improve your sleep habits by simply spraying this blend on your pillows before hitting the sack.

Recipe

1/2 cup witch hazel water or vodka
5 drops Lavender essential oil
5 drops Cedarwood essential oil

Directions 

Add witch hazel to a 4 oz spray bottle then add essential oils. Put the sprayer top and shake to mix ingredients well.

Lavender Essential Oil:

Aroma: Sweet, floral, herbaceous, light fresh and soft aroma

Pairs Well With: Bergamot, black pepper, cedarwood, chamomile, clary sage, clove, cypress, eucalyptus, frankincense, geranium, grapefruit, juniper, lemon, lemongrass, mandarin, marjoram, oakmoss, palmarosa, patchouli, peppermint, pine, ravensara, rose, rosemary, tea tree, thyme, vetiver, pine, and nutmeg.

Properties: Calming, sleep-inducing, antiseptic, analgesic, disinfectant, anti-inflammatory, anti-convulsant, anti-rheumatic, anti-spasmodic, antifungal, antiviral, bactericide, carminative, cholagogue, cicatrisant, cordial, cytophylactic, decongestant, deodorant, diuretic, emmenagogue, hypotensive, nervine, rubefacient, sedative, sudorific and vulnerary.

Cedarwood Essential Oil:

Aroma: Soft, balsamic, rich dry overtones, woody and “pencil-like” smell and has a faint undertone of sandalwood.

Pairs Well With: Bergamot, chamomile, clary sage, cypress, eucalyptus, jasmine, juniper, lavender, neroli, palmarosa, petitgrain, rosemary, sandalwood, vetiver, and ylang ylang

Properties: It is anti-seborrhoeic, antiseptic, antispasmodic, tonic, astringent, diuretic, emenagogue, expectorant, insecticidal, sedative, and a fungicide.
