Grab a glass of wine, mix this recipe together, and have your partner massage away the day’s stress. You won’t regret it.

Recipe

5 drops Spearmint essential oil
3 drops Basil essential oil
3 drops Lime essential oil
3 drops Rosemary essential oil
3 drops Eucalyptus essential oil
3 drops Bergamot essential oil
20 ml of carrier oil essential oil

Directions

Add all essential oils and carrier oil to 1-ounce amber bottle. Mix well and use as a massage oil when you need it.

Not safe for kids and pregnant/nursing women. 

 


Essential Oil Properties In This Recipe

Spearmint Essential Oil:

Aroma: Similar aroma to that of peppermint oil, but is slightly sweeter. Warm and spicy-herbaceous.

Pairs Well With: Basil, benzoin, eucalyptus, jasmine, lavender, lemon, orange, peppermint and rosemary

Properties: Antiseptic, antispasmodic, carminative, cephalic, emmenagogue, insecticide, restorative, and stimulating substance.

Basil Essential Oil:

Aroma: Clear, fresh, warm, spicy, herbaceous, light, peppery and gives a sweet, green top note to blends.

Pairs Well With: Bergamot, black pepper, cedarwood, fennel, ginger, geranium, grapefruit, lavender, lemon, marjoram, neroli and verbena.

Properties: Analgesic, antidepressant, antispasmodic, anti-venomous, carminative, cephalic, diaphoretic, digestive, emmenagogue, expectorant, anti-spasmodic, anti-bacterial, ophthalmic, febrifuge, insecticide, nervine, stomachic, sudorific, tonic and stimulant.

Lime Essential Oil:

Aroma: Tart, sweet, sharp and citrus peel smell.

Pairs Well With: Citronella, clary sage, lavender, neroli, nutmeg, rosemary, vanilla, and ylang ylang.

Properties: Antiseptic, antiviral, astringent, aperitif, bactericidal, disinfectant, febrifuge, hemostatic, restorative, and tonic.

Rosemary Essential Oil:

Aroma: Strong herbal smell, refreshing, camphor-like with a woody-balsamic undertone

Pairs Well With: Basil, black pepper, bergamot, cedarwood, cinnamon, clary sage, citronella, elemi, eucalyptus, frankincense, geranium, lavender, lemongrass, peppermint, ravensara, tea tree, and thyme.

Properties: Hair growth stimulant, disinfectant, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, analgesic substance. analgesic, antidepressant, astringent, carminative, cephalic, cholagogue, cordial, digestive, diuretic, emmenagogue, hepatic, hypertensive, nervine, rubefacient, stimulant, sudorific and tonic.

Eucalyptus Essential Oil:

Aroma: Aromatic, camphoraceous, clear, fresh, penetrating, sharp, strong, woody and very distinctive smell.

Pairs Well With: Benzoin, cedarwood, chamomile, cypress, geranium, ginger, grapefruit, juniper, lavender, lemon, lemongrass, marjoram, peppermint, pine, rosemary and thyme.

Properties: Analgesic, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-neuralgic, anti-rheumatic, antiseptic, antispasmodic, antiviral, astringent, balsamic, cicatrisant, decongestant, deodorant, depurative, diuretic, expectorant, febrifuge, hypoglycaemic, rubefacient, stimulant, vermifuge and vulnerary.

Bergamot Essential Oil:

Aroma: Fresh, spicy, floral, citrus, yet fruity and sweet, and is reminiscent of neroli as well as lavender oil.

Pairs Well With: Chamomile, citrus oils, coriander, cypress, geranium, helichrysum, jasmine, juniper, lavender, lemon balm, neroli, nutmeg, rose, sandalwood, vetiver, violet and ylang ylang

Properties: Analgesic, antidepressant, antiseptic, antibiotic, anti-spasmodic, stomachic, calmative, cicatrisant, deodorant, digestive, febrifuge, vermifuge and vulnerary.
