Try diffusing this blend on your next cleaning. It will not only make your house smelling fresh but it can also help purify and kill airborne bacteria to promote easy breathing.

Recipe

3 drops Lemon essential oil
3 drops Orange/Sweet orange essential oil
2 drops Ginger essential oil
2 drops Frankincense essential oil

Directions

Add the essential oil drops to your diffuser, add the required amount of water according to the manual’s instructions. Diffuse for one hour after general cleaning.


Essential Oil Properties In This Recipe

Lemon Essential Oil:

Aroma: Sharp, fresh smell, clean, sugary citrus and slightly sour.

Pairs Well With: Benzoin, chamomile, cistus, elemi, eucalyptus, fennel, frankincense, geranium, juniper, lavender, neroli, oakmoss, rose, sandalwood and ylang ylang.

Properties: Anti-anemic, antimicrobial, anti-rheumatic, anti-sclerotic, antiseptic, bactericidal, carminative, cicatrisant, depurative, diaphoretic, diuretic, febrifuge, haemostatic, hypotensive, insecticidal, rubefacient, tonic and vermifuge.

Orange/Sweet orange Essential Oil:

Aroma: Sweet, fresh, tangy, sugary, and citrus

Pairs Well With: Basil, bergamot, black pepper, cinnamon, clary sage, clove, coriander, eucalyptus, frankincense, geranium, ginger, grapefruit, jasmine, juniper, lavender, lemon, litsea cubeba, marjoram, myrrh, neroli, nutmeg, patchouli, petitgrain, rose, sandalwood, vetiver, and ylang ylang

Properties: Anti-inflammatory, antidepressant, antispasmodic, antiseptic, aphrodisiac, carminative, diuretic, tonic, sedative and a cholagogue.

Ginger Essential Oil:

Aroma: Strong smelling oil – spicy, sharp, warm and with a hint of lemon and pepper, which smells of actual ginger.

Pairs Well With: All citrus and spicy oils such as bergamot, frankincense, neroli, rose, sandalwood and ylang-ylang.

Properties: Analgesic, antiemetic, antiseptic, antispasmodic, bactericidal, carminative, cephalic, expectorant, febrifuge, laxative, rubefacient, stimulant, stomachic, sudorific, and tonic.

Frankincense Essential Oil:

Aroma: Earthy, a slightly citrus-fruity/sweet, woody, spicy, haunting smell, a small hint camphoric, but very pleasant.

Pairs Well With: Citrus oils like bergamot, grapefruit, lime, lemon, neroli and wild orange. Piney and earthy scents such as cypress, myrrh palmarosa, pine, patchouli, sandalwood, and vetiver. Floral scents such as lavender, geranium, rose, ylang ylang, and clary sage. Spice scents such as black pepper, camphor, and cinnamon.

Properties: Antiseptic, astringent, carminative, cicatrizant, cytophylactic, digestive, diuretic, emmenagogue, expectorant, sedative, tonic, uterine, and vulnerary.
