Goldilocks (Scented Hair Blend – Spray)

Hair perfume is a new way to let those you pass by smell the fresh aroma of essential oils. Gently spray on your hair to keep it smelling fresh and clean. Feel free to mix and match other essential oils to create your desired scent.

Recipe

⅓ cup rose water
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
3 drops Lavender essential oil
5 drops Ylang Ylang oil essential oil
4 drops Rosemary oil essential oil
5 drops Sandalwood oil essential oil
4 drops Grapefruit oil essential oil

Directions

In a glass spray bottle, combine rose water, vanilla extract, and essential oils. Add more or less essential oils depending on your preference. Shake and spray on hair as desired.


Essential Oil Properties In This Recipe

Lavender Essential Oil:

Aroma: Sweet, floral, herbaceous, light fresh and soft aroma

Pairs Well With: Bergamot, black pepper, cedarwood, chamomile, clary sage, clove, cypress, eucalyptus, frankincense, geranium, grapefruit, juniper, lemon, lemongrass, mandarin, marjoram, oakmoss, palmarosa, patchouli, peppermint, pine, ravensara, rose, rosemary, tea tree, thyme, vetiver, pine, and nutmeg.

Properties: Calming, sleep-inducing, antiseptic, analgesic, disinfectant, anti-inflammatory, anti-convulsant, anti-rheumatic, anti-spasmodic, antifungal, antiviral, bactericide, carminative, cholagogue, cicatrisant, cordial, cytophylactic, decongestant, deodorant, diuretic, emmenagogue, hypotensive, nervine, rubefacient, sedative, sudorific and vulnerary.

Ylang Ylang Essential Oil:

Aroma: Exotic, sweet smell, floral and rich.

Pairs Well With: Bergamot, chamomile, clary sage, clove, eucalyptus lemon, ginger, grapefruit, jasmine, lemon, litsea cubeba, mandarin, neroli, opopanax, orange, palmarosa, patchouli, peru balsam, petitgrain, rose, rosewood, sandalwood, tuberose and vetiver

Properties: Antidepressant, antiseborrhoeic, antiseptic, aphrodisiac, hypotensive, nervine and sedative.

Rosemary Essential Oil:

Aroma: Strong herbal smell, refreshing, camphor-like with a woody-balsamic undertone

Pairs Well With: Basil, black pepper, bergamot, cedarwood, cinnamon, clary sage, citronella, elemi, eucalyptus, frankincense, geranium, lavender, lemongrass, peppermint, ravensara, tea tree, and thyme.

Properties: Hair growth stimulant, disinfectant, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, analgesic substance. analgesic, antidepressant, astringent, carminative, cephalic, cholagogue, cordial, digestive, diuretic, emmenagogue, hepatic, hypertensive, nervine, rubefacient, stimulant, sudorific and tonic.

Sandalwood Essential Oil:

Aroma: Alluring, exotic smell, subtle, floral, soft woody aroma with resinous, balsamic undertones that are empowering.

Pairs Well With: Bergamot, Black pepper, Geranium, Frankincense, Jasmine, Lavender, Myrrh, Rose, Vanilla, Vetiver and Ylang-Ylang. All citrus oils.

Properties: Antiphlogistic, antiseptic, antispasmodic, astringent, carminative, diuretic, emollient, expectorant, sedative and tonic.

Grapefruit Essential Oil:

Aroma: Sweet, tangy, citrus, and sharp refreshing smell.

Pairs Well With: Bergamot, black pepper, cardamom, clary sage, clove, cypress, eucalyptus, fennel, frankincense, geranium, ginger, juniper, lavender, lemon, mandarin, neroli, palmarosa, patchouli, peppermint, rosemary, thyme and ylang ylang.

Properties: Antidepressant, antiseptic, aperitif, diuretic, disinfectant, lymphatic stimulant, tonic and anti-infectious.

  1. Where do you get the rose water? Real, pure rose. Haven’t found any type of rose that I can use other then doterra but only have rose touch which I don’t want oil in my hair and do not have the 5ml oil. Sad. But where do I get rose water?? And can you use vanilla absolute oil instead of vanilla extract, I’m guessing since it’s so extremely strong 1 drop of absolute would work for the tsp of extract. I just think the smell of extract is better saved for cooking? Yes or no? Thank you.
