Drifting (Relaxing Sleep Diffuser Blend)

We’ve shared a lot of essential oil blends for energy and staying focus to help you get things done. This time, it’s a blend to help you relax and settle down to get ready for a restful sleep. When your brain is active, which is a good thing most of the time, catching some sleep ain’t that easy. We need to turn off that idea switch every night so that the brain and body can relax. Lack of rest is a common cause of inability to concentrate during the day. So take a deep breath and inhale this relaxing essential oil blend for good night sleep.


1 drop Bergamot essential oil
1 drop Patchouli essential oil
1 drop Ylang-Ylang essential oil


Add the essential oil drops to your diffuser, add the required amount of water according to the manual’s instructions. Diffuse for one hour.

Safe for kids 2+ years old but not for nursing/pregnant women.

Essential Oil Properties In This Recipe

Bergamot Essential Oil:

Aroma: Fresh, spicy, floral, citrus, yet fruity and sweet, and is reminiscent of neroli as well as lavender oil.

Pairs Well With: Chamomile, citrus oils, coriander, cypress, geranium, helichrysum, jasmine, juniper, lavender, lemon balm, neroli, nutmeg, rose, sandalwood, vetiver, violet and ylang ylang

Properties: Analgesic, antidepressant, antiseptic, antibiotic, anti-spasmodic, stomachic, calmative, cicatrisant, deodorant, digestive, febrifuge, vermifuge and vulnerary.

Patchouli Essential Oil:

Aroma: Earthy, smoky, rich musky-sweet, strong spicy and herbaceous smell.

Pairs Well With: Bergamot, black pepper, cedarwood, chamomile, cinnamon, clary sage, clove, coriander, frankincense, geranium, ginger, grapefruit, jasmine, lavender, lemongrass, litsea cubeba, mandarin, myrrh, neroli, oakmoss, opopanax, orange, rose, sandalwood, and vetiver

Properties: Antidepressant, antiphlogistic, antiseptic, aphrodisiac, astringent, cicatrisant, cytophylactic, deodorant, diuretic, febrifuge, fungicide, insecticide, sedative, and tonic.

Ylang-Ylang Essential Oil:

Aroma: Exotic, sweet smell, floral and rich

Pairs Well With: Bergamot, chamomile, clary sage, clove, eucalyptus lemon, ginger, grapefruit, jasmine, lemon, litsea cubeba, mandarin, neroli, opopanax, orange, palmarosa, patchouli, peru balsam, petitgrain, rose, rosewood, sandalwood, tuberose and vetiver.

Properties: Antidepressant, antiseborrhoeic, antiseptic, aphrodisiac, hypotensive, nervine and sedative.
