It always makes us a little uneasy putting something on our little one when it’s some chemical concoction and you need a Ph.D. just to pronounce it. The next time you need some diaper cream for little one try this all natural recipe. It has 5 simple ingredients straight from mother nature. This natural cream is not only for diaper rashes, it can also help soothe and aid in healing cuts, and other minor skin ailments.

Recipe

1/2 cup Organic Coconut Oil
1 drop Tea Tree | Melaleuca Essential Oil
1 drop Lavender Essential Oil
1 drop Frankincense Essential Oil
1/2 ounce Organic Beeswax

Directions

Whip 1/2 cup of coconut oil in a mixer until foamy, then add melted beeswax. Add in 2 drops of each essential oil and stir together. Store in any sealable container and use as needed.

You may store it in the fridge for an hour or 2 to solidify. Apply to the affected area at night until rashes are completely healed.

Tea Tree Essential Oil:

Aroma: Fresh, potent, spicy-camphoraceous, rather pungent smell and warm.

Pairs Well With: Basil, bergamot, black pepper, chamomile german, cinnamon, clary sage, clove, cypress, eucalyptus, geranium, juniper, lavender, lemon, marjoram, myrrh, nutmeg, oakmoss, oregano, peppermint, pine, ravensara, rosewood, rosemary, thyme, and ylang ylang

Lavender Essential Oil:

Aroma: Sweet, floral, herbaceous, light fresh and soft aroma

Pairs Well With: Bergamot, black pepper, cedarwood, chamomile, clary sage, clove, cypress, eucalyptus, frankincense, geranium, grapefruit, juniper, lemon, lemongrass, mandarin, marjoram, oakmoss, palmarosa, patchouli, peppermint, pine, ravensara, rose, rosemary, tea tree, thyme, vetiver, pine, and nutmeg.

Properties: Calming, sleep-inducing, antiseptic, analgesic, disinfectant, anti-inflammatory, anti-convulsant, anti-rheumatic, anti-spasmodic, antifungal, antiviral, bactericide, carminative, cholagogue, cicatrisant, cordial, cytophylactic, decongestant, deodorant, diuretic, emmenagogue, hypotensive, nervine, rubefacient, sedative, sudorific and vulnerary.

Frankincense Essential Oil:

Aroma: Earthy, a slightly citrus-fruity/sweet, woody, spicy, haunting smell, a small hint camphoric, but very pleasant.

Pairs Well With: Citrus oils like bergamot, grapefruit, lime, lemon, neroli and wild orange. Piney and earthy scents such as cypress, myrrh palmarosa, pine, patchouli, sandalwood, and vetiver. Floral scents such as lavender, geranium, rose, ylang ylang, and clary sage. Spice scents such as black pepper, camphor, and cinnamon.

Properties: Antiseptic, astringent, carminative, cicatrizant, cytophylactic, digestive, diuretic, emmenagogue, expectorant, sedative, tonic, uterine, and vulnerary.
